🎉 Social Skills for Kids Workshop – Event Recap

Our Social Skills for Kids Workshop on Wednesday, January 28 was an incredible evening filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful connection! Families joined us in Dundee for an engaging and interactive session designed to help children build communication skills and confidence through play-based learning.

Throughout the workshop, children and caregivers worked side-by-side practicing important skills such as:

✨ Following directions
✨ Recognizing and expressing emotions
✨ Engaging in positive social interactions
✨ Building confidence in group settings

The energy in the room was amazing as children participated in hands-on activities that made learning natural and fun. Parents walked away with practical, easy-to-implement strategies to continue supporting their child’s social and emotional growth at home.

We are so proud of the children who participated and grateful to the families who made the evening such a success. Events like these highlight the power of learning together in a supportive and encouraging environment.

We can’t wait to host our next workshop and continue building strong, confident communicators in our community! 💛

🌟 We Had a Blast at the Sensory-Friendly Performance of The SpongeBob Musical! 🌟

On November 20th, our team at Spicer Exceptional Therapies had the joy of supporting a special sensory-friendly performance of The SpongeBob Musical, presented by the Children’s Theatre of Elgin at The Hemmens Cultural Center.

This free, inclusive event was created to give individuals with sensory sensitivities—and their families—a comfortable, welcoming space to enjoy live theatre. And we were thrilled to be part of it!

Throughout the evening, our team provided sensory assistance to help kiddos navigate transitions, take breaks when needed, and enjoy the show at their own pace. We also enjoyed a special moment during intermission as our owner and clinical leader, Tiffany Spicer, spoke to the audience about the importance of sensory-inclusive spaces and the work we do to support families in our community.

We loved seeing families relax, smile, and make memories in an environment tailored to their needs.

A huge thank-you to the Children’s Theatre of Elgin for hosting such a thoughtful event, and to all the families who came out and spent their evening with us. We’re grateful for every opportunity to support our community through accessible and inclusive experiences.

Stay tuned for more events like this—we can’t wait to see you again soon! 💛🎭🌈

✨ Inclusion Shines Bright This Holiday Season! ✨

We were honored to support A Christmas Carol at Dundee-Crown High School by offering sensory assistance to ensure this beloved holiday tradition was welcoming for everyone in the audience.

Building inclusive, supportive experiences for our community is a core part of our mission — and events like this truly show how meaningful that work can be. ❤️🎄

A huge thank-you to Dundee-Crown High School for having us, and to all the families and community members who joined in for such a festive and heartwarming night!

Session at the Pumpkin Patch at Goebbert’s Farm

This past October, our families joined us for a special fall event — Sessions at the Pumpkin Patch — hosted at the beautiful Goebbert’s Farm in South Barrington. It was an afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful moments as our clients and their families enjoyed all the classic autumn activities: pumpkins, animals, play areas, and so much more!

We want to extend a big thank you to Goebbert’s Farm for welcoming us and helping create such a fun and sensory-friendly environment for our families. And of course, thank you to all the families who came out to share this day with us. Events like these remind us how special our community truly is.

Stay tuned for more exciting opportunities like this — we love creating experiences that bring our families together both inside and outside of session time! 🍂
